⛰️ A hike in the hills - 23 km loop from Valkenburg train station ⛰️

We're returning to the south for another hike in the hills of Limburg! This time, we'll make a 23 km loop hike starting and ending at the oldest still functioning train station of the Netherlands: Valkenburg station.

We'll enjoy beautiful forests, scenic views and a peak at history at castle Schaloen. Be aware that elevation differences can make this a tough hike, especially when it's hot!

📍 When and Where to Meet?
We’ll meet at 11:30 am at Valkenburg train station, next to the bus stops (https://maps.app.goo.gl/DepvookhQeWSHchg9). We'll start our hike shortly afterwards.

🏁 Finish
After roughly 23 kilometers, we’ll finish the hike at the same spot we started: Valkenburg train station.

🚗 Coming by car
If you want to come by car, a good option is to park at P + R Spoorlaan right next to the train station (max. €7,- per day when you do not make use of public transport.).

⏸️ Breaks
We'll have 2 breaks, at ~ 13:00 and ~ 15:30 depending on when we find a nice spot. We will not pass any lunch rooms until near the end of the hike, bring your own lunch!

💰 Price: €3 early bird / €4 regular

Your spot is confirmed once payment is received. Please note that if there is a waiting list and you have not confirmed your spot within 48h of signing up, I'll move you back to the waiting list to give others a chance to join.

Notifications:

• This hike is at your own risk. Please ensure you have appropriate insurance coverage for outdoor activities.
• If your Meetup name is different from your payment account name, please add a note with your Meetup name so I can easily match them.
• Cancellations are fully refundable up to 1 week before the event (This is Friday 18 Juli at 23h59). After this period, the fee becomes non-refundable.
• Bring food and/or snacks for during the hike.
• Bring at least 2 liter of water for drinking along the way.
• The hike will only be canceled in case of extreme weather, such as strong storms.
• If you plan to bring a companion, please ensure that they are also registered for the hike.
