🎨🌲 Art Festival Meets Forest: Woest & Bijster Hike (25 km)🥾

This time we’re doing something truly special (again)! 🌲🎨

The Woest & Bijster art festival is a unique outdoor art event that takes place in the landscapes around Ede and Lunteren. Every two years, artists place large-scale artworks right in nature—forests, heaths, and farmlands—so you can discover them while walking through the countryside. It’s where art and landscape meet, turning the Veluwe into an open-air museum. More about the festival here: Woest & Bijster

The festival has its own official hike of 14 km, but we’re going to do it our way — and make it better. Instead of just a handful (8) artworks, we will double it and connect with 16 artworks over 25 kilometers, combining nature, art, and a proper long-distance challenge. Where the official route leads you over asphalt, we’ll dive into the forests and hidden paths we know so well. Expect far less pavement, more nature, and yes—straight through the “jungle” of Lunteren.

So if you’re up for a great workout of 25 km, combined with the discovery of inspiring art installations, this is the hike for you.
Come along for a day where exercise meets creativity, and where we’ll see the festival from a perspective only the Veluwe Power Hikers will experience.

📍When and where to meet?
We’ll meet in front at the train station of Lunteren at 11h05. We’ll start shortly afterwards! Please be on time, as we don't wait for latecomers.

Please pay as soon as you sign up: To keep things fair for everyone, if we don’t receive your payment within 48 hours, we will need to remove you from the participant list. If there’s a waiting list, this will happen sooner (in less than 48 hours). If that happens, no worries — you’re always welcome to sign up again if there’s space.

• Refund policy: Cancellations are fully refundable up to 1 week before the event (This is Friday 19 September at 23h59). After this period, the fee becomes non-refundable.
• Please only make the payment if you are on the participant list. Payments from the waiting list do not result in participation and will be refunded.
• Hike difficulty: Our hikes are moderately challenging. Please only join if you’re confident you can keep up with the group’s pace (5 km/ h)— it’s more fun for everyone when we can walk together without long waits.
• If the pace is too challenging: We may kindly suggest you continue at your own pace. We’ll give you clear directions to the nearest bus or train so you can return comfortably.
• At your own risk: You participate at your own risk, so please make sure you have appropriate insurance coverage for outdoor activities.
• Payment note: With Tikkie we only see initials (e.g., J. Doe instead of John Doe). Please include your Meetup name in the payment note so we can match it easily.
• Friends joining: If you bring a friend, make sure they also register and pay.
• What to bring: Snacks, lunch, and 1–2 liters of water (depending on the hike distance).
