HONORING OF YEMOJA
May 24 • 9:30 A.M. • Venice Beach
Gathering begins at 9:30 A.M. outside Café Gratitude on Rose Avenue & 5th Street in Venice Beach. Nearby landmarks include The Window at American Beauty, Vin Anima Mundi, and StretchLab.
From there, we will walk west along Rose Avenue to the shoreline, arriving at approximately 10 A.M.
This is an open devotional gathering in honor of Yemojá, La Virgen de Regla, the Divine Mother, and the sacred spirit of the ocean. All are welcome, whether coming in devotion, prayer, reverence for the sea, or simply to gather in peaceful community.
Participants are encouraged to bring biodegradable offerings for the water, such as:
• flowers
• fruits
• natural herbs
• or small liquid offerings/spiritual waters.
A limited number of devotional offerings, such as flowers, will also be available at a modest price for those wishing to participate.
This is not a formal or heavily structured ritual, but rather a communal procession and offering to the Ocean Mother. Together, we will carry her image to the shoreline, sing, pray, make offerings, and honor the waters in a simple and heartfelt way.
We are also seeking volunteers, helpers, singers, drummers, flower bearers, and community members who would like to participate more actively in helping this gathering grow into an annual tradition.
Bring items for our community altar at the beach.
