March with the VWA in the July 4 Parade in Monterey!

Details

Come march with the Ventana Wilderness Alliance in the Old Monterey Fourth of July Parade on Alvarado Street and Calle Principal. We did it last year for the first time and it was great fun!

If you are a volunteer, supporter, ally, or partner, you are invited to march with us in the parade. The protection of our public lands is a patriotic and democratic endeavor. Please join us and walk in the parade to celebrate our work to protect the Big Sur Backcountry.

DETAILS FOR PARTICIPANTS - Friday, July 4
Parking: Allow plenty of time to park before meeting fellow VWA marchers at the staging area at 9:15 AM. There is no participant parking at the staging area. Participant parking options include the Lower 7 and Upper 7 lots on Calle Principal or the downtown East and West garages.
- Any vehicles parked within the parade route will not be able to exit until the entire parade is complete and the parade route is cleared.

Staging Area: Meet at 9:15 AM. We will be at the Blood Center Lot between Pacific St. and Hartnell St. Look for group #68. If you can't find us, there will be parade personnel there to direct you. The parade starts at 10 AM. We will march with a banner and the VWA truck for about one mile. Please wear a VWA t-shirt or your volunteer uniform if you have one.

Feel free to call Rich Popchak at 831-818-6255 with any questions.
Thank you for marching with the VWA.
