TRIP TITLE / DATES / IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:

Back Pack SAW TRIP THREE Nights Tassajara Creek Camp work on the Marble Peak Trail

VWA TRAIL CREW LEADER:

Betsy MacGowan

OVERVIEW:

BACKPACKING TRIP

HIKE 2 miles from the trailhead at the Horsebridge. We will work on clearing brush and fallen trees on the Marble Peak Trail. Hopefully getting to the Tony Trail to allow future trips to work from there. Our first order of business is to clear out the logjam on Willow Creek just up from Tassajara Creek Camp. This logjam is causing most of the water in Willow Creek to run down the trail. Maybe when the water is low, we can get it back into its original channel.

WORK on the Marble Peak Trail

This will be a good introduction to backpacking and trailwork. You may be able to arrive late, but you would need to hike the 2.5 miles from the Gorge Parking lot at Arroyo Seco.

THE WORK:

There is work for all abilities. Beginner to expert. Tools and instruction provided for brushing/tread work. The work location has PLENTY of poison oak and there is no way to avoid it. Cotton clothing with long sleeves and long pants can be helpful to avoid poison oak.

MEET: Arroyo Seco Gorge Parking lot. Drive to Arroyo Seco, continue up the road until you cannot go any further. The Gorge Parking lot is on the right.

LOCAL WEATHER:
