Santa Lucia Trail (South End) Sawyer Trip and backpack camping

OVERVIEW:
Meet 8am at the Santa Lucia Trailhead (South End) parking lot. This is the end of the Santa Lucia trail that STARTS near MEMORIAL PARK CAMPGROUND. The Santa Lucia trailhead parking is on the right side, a few hundred yards before the campground.
THE HIKE IN:
On Saturday we will hike 3 miles to our campsite and along the way, remove four Oaks blocking the trail. We will then set up our overnight camp and water to filter is available close by.
THE WORK:
On Sunday we will hike 3 miles to the summit of the highest peak in the Coast Range, Junipero Serro to remove trees blocking the trail. Then hike back downhill 3 miles to camp.
On Monday we will hike 2 miles uphill to grub out plants using tools similar to garden hoes and then hike 5 miles downhill to the trailhead. Monday is optional and you can decide to hike out 3 miles Monday morning but you'll miss all the grubbing fun.
Tools and instructions will be provided.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Long sleeve shirt and pants, sturdy closed toe shoe or work boots, sun protection or sunscreen.

WHAT TO BRING:
If you have a favorite pair of work gloves, safety glasses, or hard hat then bring them. Otherwise we will provide those along with the tools.
A backpack to carry everything you will need for two nights camping and then working some on Saturday, Sunday and if you choose Monday as well. Don't forget your long sleeve shirt, pants, work shoes/boots, and sun protection/ sunscreen.
