This famous opera is known better by it's name in English: The Barber of Seville. Now a spoiler alert. Some operas end with everyone dead, dying, or facing a grisly execution. Not this one. After The Barber, the morgue is vacant.
Seeing a Met Opera simulcast with first-class singers and often over-the-top staging is a real opportunity. And who knows, you might like it. The Metropolitan Opera is as good as it gets. And these broadcasts are a chance to see the Met at a reasonable price, in comfortable seats, and with popcorn or ice cream at your seat. Seeing a Met Opera performance should be on everyone's bucket list. Here's a chance to check that box. And yes, English subtitles are provided on screen.

From the Met: Rossini’s effervescent comedy retakes the stage in Bartlett Sher’s madcap production. Mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina headlines a winning ensemble as the feisty heroine, Rosina, alongside high-flying tenor Jack Swanson, in his Met debut, as her secret beloved, Count Almaviva. Baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky stars as Figaro, the titular barber of Seville, with bass-baritone Peter Kálmán as Dr. Bartolo and bass Alexander Vinogradov as Don Basilio rounding out the principal cast. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts. This live cinema transmission is part of the Met’s award-winning Live in HD series, bringing opera to movie theaters across the globe.
