Bubbling Springs to Point Hueneme Lighthouse then Lunch at Pier

Diane has volunteered to lead what in past years has been a very popular event. With luck my surgically repaired knee and I will make it to the Pier. But probably not to the Lighthouse.

This hike is quite pleasant and the beach weather should be good, as it is most all year. It starts at a pretty park and wends its way along a green belt to the pier and then out to the lighthouse. Bring some bread if you'd like to feed the ducks en route.

Anyway, Bubbling Springs to the Lighthouse is a nice, moderate walk along a creek and then along the ocean, with a good bit of distance and a nice lunch to be had at the pier.

We’ll meet in the Bubbling Spring's parking area at Bard and Park in Port Hueneme, walk along the Bubbling Springs green corridor to the beach to the PH Pier. Ducks and shade are plentiful along the pathway.

Then on to the Point Hueneme Lighthouse [and it's not a mistake--it's Point, not Port]. After a break, we'll walk back to the pier for the lunch. Bring a picnic lunch or buy something there. Grilled halibut tacos are my favorite--tasty and reasonably healthy. The lighthouse will not be open on this weekday.
This is a moderate walk of 5.6 miles with a rest at about the 2.8 mile mark. There is no elevation gain. For those who would prefer a slightly shorter walk, shave off a couple miles by relaxing at the pier [with me] while the rest go on to the lighthouse, then back for lunch.

Dogs are OK on the walk, but this is Port Hueneme on a weekend and there may be Pitt Bulls.

DIRECTIONS: From Channel Islands Blvd and Ventura Road, take Ventura Road toward the beach. Naval Base Ventura will be on the right. At Bard, turn left and continue to Park Avenue. Turn right and park in the parking area on the left.
