Attend Royal Ballet Performance of Giselle
Details
Another opportunity to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon watching a first rank ballet by one of the preeminent ballet troupes in the world, the Royal Ballet. The experience is better than seeing it live in an auditorium--more comfortable seats, less expensive tickets, and a better view than any seat in the auditorium. Join us before the performance at Kabuki's [across the street from the cinema] for lunch. I'll post the lunch as a separate event.
From Fathom: The world turns upside down for the peasant girl Giselle when she discovers her lover Albrecht is actually a nobleman promised to another. In despair, she kills herself. Her spirit joins the Wilis, the vengeful ghosts of women who have been jilted and die before their wedding day. The Wilis are hell-bent on killing any man who crosses their path in a dance to the death. Wracked with guilt, Albrecht visits Giselle’s grave, where he must face the Wilis – and Giselle’s ghost. Will he survive?
