I've scheduled this because it is a nice walk AND within the capability of my surgically reconstructed knee. Also, for those smart and frugal people who invested in the calendar-year Limited Use Golden Bear Pass for 2026, parking will be free. The pass costs $20 and is for seniors [age 62 and older]. The pass is good for free access and free parking at nearly all California State Parks [except from Memorial Day to Labor Day]. You can buy one at the park headquarters for San Buenaventura State Beach, Nearly too late for the pre-Memorial Day period, but buy it on this day [14 May] and parking will be free for this hike as well as for one coming up in a week.

We'll walk along the Promenade 2 to 2-1/2 miles, then back, stopping at the Pier for a taco or two. Anyone who wants to can walk partly on the sand, but although it will be close to low tide [at 8:32], it will be a positive tide--about 5 feet and rising. [In fact, it will be almost exactly high tide with a +6 ft tide, which is about as high as it ever gets.] This is a pleasant walk and the weather should be in the 60s.
The parking lot is shown in satellite view:

With the 2026 pass, parking is free. Lacking that, park on the adajjacent street, which is both convenient and free.
