Bubbling Springs to Lighthouse Plus Banana Festival and Classic Car Show

This has been a popular walk over several years. Normally we walk to the Lighthouse and then have lunch at the Hueneme Pier restaurant. But on this Saturday the Harbor opens to host the yearly Banana Festival.

- Highlights: Classic and vintage car show, port harbor tours, live music bands, a kids’ zone, and unique banana-themed treats and foods.
One of our members will be displaying his vintage car at the show. So while we enjoy the show, we can stop and say hello.
This walk to the beach is quite pleasant and the beach weather should be good, as it is most all year. It starts at a pretty park and wends its way
along a green belt to the pier and then out to the entrance to the Festival.

Anyway, Bubbling Springs to the Lighthouse is a nice, moderate walk along a creek and then along the ocean, with a good bit of distance and food to be eaten at the festival.
We’ll meet in the Bubbling Spring's parking area at Bard and Park in Port Hueneme, walk along the Bubbling Springs green corridor to the beach to the entrance to the Harbor and the Festival. Ducks and shade are plentiful along the pathway.
This is a moderate walk of 5+ miles with lots of time to rest at the Festival.
Dogs are NOT OK at the Festival.
DIRECTIONS: From Channel Islands Blvd and Ventura Road, take Ventura Road toward the beach. Naval Base Ventura will be on the right. At Bard, turn left and continue to Park Avenue. Turn right and park in the parking area on the left.
