What we’re about

Join our tennis friends and neighbors, both men and women, for fun and social tennis for intermediate or slightly advanced players looking to rally and seek some friendly competition. We play for fun ... not rank, so advanced players are more than welcome so that we can all up our game, but please keep in mind that it's all about fun and exercise and the opportunity to hit!

Players who are familiar with a particular rating system will find that most of us are 3.0-3.5 level players whose goals are to move up to be better players in the 4.0 area. Feel free to look at this website about your playing skills.

We are in the early stages of creating a solid group of tennis friends, which is moving fast! Many people want to play tennis here in Ventura County more than just once a week or once a month. The goal of this group is to offer play about four times per week.

Currently, the maximum number of players that can attend is six, as there is only one court at present that we can reserve. If we have six attendees, two players will be on the bench to rotate in and play the winners of every 3-6 games. We can play Doubles, Singles, or Round-Robin/Australian, depending upon attendance. If only one person attends, it’s singles with me, a friend, or a neighbor. We play No-AD scoring. Please bring your own water and snacks.

If you RSVP and then can't attend, please edit your RSVP as early as possible before the event to say you are not coming. This lets us know how many to expect and also allows others to fill your spot. Please remember spots are limited to only 6 attendees per event.

Donations are encouraged but optional. All donations go towards subsidizing the Meetup organizers' fee of over $140, new or slightly new tennis balls for each event, and a fund for providing food and drink for a future group mixer party event. You'll see a place to make your donation under "Fundraising," shown on this group's meetup.com page.

Location: Portside Harbor neighborhood behind the Four Points Sheraton. Take Schooner Drive towards the Marina and make a left on Portside Drive, then a right on Puerto Place. Park somewhere close to the end and walk through the area opposite the art gallery, and you'll see the tennis court.
