Hiking @ Sandstone Peak

We've had many awesome people join us on our weekend hikes so let's continue with this recommendation from some of our group members: Sandstone Peak. Sandstone peak is the highest summit in the Santa Monica Mountains standing at 3114 feet tall. The trail to the peak is about 3 miles long and it connects to the backbone trail of the Santa Monica Mountains. The hike can be as long or as short as the group wants it to be. A few sections of the trail can be rocky and challenging with little shade along the way. Be sure to bring appropriate footwear, clothing, accessories, an emotional support companion, sunscreen, and water for the hike. There is plenty of parking available, as well as restrooms in the parking lot. We'll meet by the restrooms in the Sandstone Peak Trailhead Parking lot. I'll post updates in the comments.
