Who are we?
Welcome to Venture Sidekick - your networking partner that connects talented individuals from aspiring founders to seasoned investors. Our goal is to hold events to showcase the best and brightest people of the DC Metro Area. From startups to product demos, hackathons to educational sessions, our goal is building a strong community and network organically; person to person, people to people.
What to expect during an event?
These events are typically held at local restaurants or bars during happy hours, where interesting conversations are shared over food or drinks. To make it convenient, our Meetups are scheduled weekday nights around 6 pm with close access to public transportation.
How did the group start?
This group was formerly known as Startup Labs, but we saw a need to grow connections throughout the entire business lifecycle. A venture continues on after the startup phase, and that's why you need a sidekick.
Throughout our careers and ventures, we've often heard questions like, "What are the best resources to get a business account for my startup?", "Do you know a tech patent lawyer?" or "I need to fulfill a new Senior Product Director role for my organization, know anyone in your network?" Despite Linkedin connections, search engines, or automated tools, there's still no substitute for building strong, trusted professional relationships.
