# Veterans Holistic Healing Group
### Exploring the many pathways to wellness, connection, purpose and quality of life
The Veterans Holistic Healing Group is a welcoming, collaborative community created to connect Veterans—and others who have served in high-stress, high-trauma professions, including EMTs, first responders and related communities—with a wider range of approaches to healing, wellness and personal development.
One of our primary goals is to share information about cutting-edge and emerging approaches to trauma, depression and PTSD, while creating a place for thoughtful, open discussion about both established and less conventional pathways to well-being.
This includes education about psychedelic research and emerging treatments, their potential risks and benefits, the changing legal landscape, Right to Try, PIVOT and current research initiatives, as well as traditional and holistic practices such as Kambo Frog Medicine, equine experiences, movement, time in Nature, cultural healing traditions, nutrition, music, creative arts and other approaches to restoring connection between mind, body and community.
This is not about suggesting that there is one answer for every Veteran.

In fact, the group begins with the opposite premise: people are different, experiences are different, and healing can take many different paths.
Our vision for this collaborative—the Veterans Wellness Collective—is to create meaningful opportunities for Veterans to explore the many different pathways that can support wellness, connection, purpose and quality of life. Not everyone responds to one modality, and it is important to reach Veterans beyond traditional clinical settings and connect them with experiences and communities that foster belonging and well-being.
We hope to bring together partners offering experiences such as creative arts, music, equine experiences, movement practices, traditional cultural healing practices, outdoor activities, Whole Health approaches, natural foods, personal-development practices and other opportunities that allow Veterans to discover what wellness means for them personally.
The group will also provide a place for education and honest conversation. Emerging psychedelic and plant-medicine approaches are receiving increasing attention in veteran communities, medicine, research and public policy.
We want Veterans to have access to intelligent discussion about what is being studied, what is currently available, what remains experimental, potential benefits and risks, and how initiatives such as Right to Try and PIVOT fit into the changing landscape. We can also share information about current holistic and traditional offerings, including Kambo, while creating opportunities to learn about other approaches and meet the people and organizations providing them.
Just as importantly, this is about friendship and community. Healing does not always happen in an office. Sometimes it happens around horses, on a trail, while making music, eating good food, learning something new or simply spending time with people who understand.
### Goals of the Veterans Wellness Collective
- Promote Veteran wellness through multiple pathways, recognizing that wellness and healing look different for every Veteran.
- Increase connection, belonging, purpose and community engagement as protective factors for Veteran well-being and suicide prevention.
- Create opportunities for Veterans to experience wellness activities firsthand, rather than simply receiving information about available programs.
- Reduce barriers to help-seeking by introducing Veterans to wellness and supportive resources in welcoming, nonclinical community settings.
- Share emerging information and encourage informed discussion about trauma, depression, PTSD, psychedelic research, Right to Try, PIVOT, legality, Kambo and other traditional, holistic and innovative approaches.
- Bring together diverse wellness partners, including equine programs, creative arts and music, movement practices, outdoor activities, Whole Health approaches, natural foods, traditional cultural practices and personal-development resources.
- Develop ongoing monthly opportunities for Veterans to participate, build relationships, explore different modalities and remain connected to a supportive community.
- Work toward an annual Veterans Wellness Festival highlighting many pathways to wellness through hands-on experiences, demonstrations, education, music, food, Nature, community and connection.
Ultimately, the Veterans Holistic Healing Group is about creating more doors into wellness. A Veteran should not have to fit a particular program in order to find support. We want to build a community rich enough in experiences, knowledge, relationships and opportunities that Veterans can discover the pathways that speak to them—and have people beside them as they explore what comes next.

Kambo, Frog Medicine Session

KamboKnown traditionally as the “Vaccine of the Jungle,” Kambo is an Amazonian Frog Medicine used in Indigenous traditions for purification, stamina, clearing and preparation. Dr. Courtni Hale, Ph.D. has worked with Kambo for 15 years, following instruction received through an Indigenous lineage.
Kambo is not psychedelic, and it is not a scheduled substance. It works primarily through aligned mind and body. The secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog contains a complex mixture of bioactive peptides that produce a short, intense physiological experience. Small superficial points are made on the skin and Kambo is applied; the active portion of the experience is typically relatively brief and may include warmth, increased heart rate, sweating, nausea and gentle purging, followed by rest and recovery.
But the reason Dr. Courtni works with Kambo goes beyond the physical experience. We can understand a pattern intellectually and still remain caught inside it.Trauma, chronic stress, fear and limiting beliefs can become repetitive patterns that influence how we think, react, perform and relate to ourselves and others.
People often describe the period following Kambo as feeling lighter and clearer, with relief from looping thoughts, a quieter mind and greater clarity about their lives. For this reason, Dr. Courtni also uses Kambo as preparation for deeper personal and ceremonial work—an opportunity to step outside familiar patterns, reconnect with the body and explore what may be consuming energy or blocking access to personal power.
For veterans, executives, professionals and other high performers, the question isn't always “How can I push harder?”Sometimes the more powerful question is:
“What am I ready to stop carrying?”First Fridays | 7:00–9:00 PM | Lewes, Delaware
Group Kambo: $100 | Private Kambo: $3501 attendee - $100.00
