Facts about organization:

★ The Veterans’ Holiday Celebration began in 1992, with 10 men serving 30 veterans a home-cooked meal. They brought guitars and sang holiday songs to these men at the West Los Angeles VA hospital. They found that many of these men did not have family or friends to spend the holidays with, and so began the VHC. We now serve over 2,500 veterans, active duty and their families. Over the last 24 years we have served over 25,000 veterans, active duty and their families.

★ The Veterans’ Holiday Celebration is the nation’s largest all-volunteer event of its kind. There are no paid staff and all donations received serve our veterans.

★ This year, we anticipate serving 2,500 veterans, active duty and their families, an exceptional, home-cooked holiday meal with all the trimmings.

★ We provide a care package with many donated items, to each veteran who attends the event. We need approximately 75,000 items to fill 3,500 care packages.

★ Our Spirit Team delivers over 400 care packages to the veterans in the hospital who cannot attend the event. The Spirit Team spends time with the veterans offering love, respect and holiday cheer to these bed-bound men and women.

★ We provide a 5-hour, live entertainment show featuring Jim Belushi and The Sacred Hearts. Mr. Belushi has been serving the veterans for over 15 years.

★ Our Event Management Team is comprised of over 100 individuals managing 40+ teams. On event day, we have over 600 volunteers serving our veterans.
