Join us for an evening with Louis Manjarres, FX Lead, FX Supervisor, and current instructor at Campus VFX, as he shares stories, techniques, and creative insights from his extensive career in visual effects.

Louis has spent over a decade working at the forefront of effects creation for feature films and episodic content, bringing dynamic simulations, destruction, and natural phenomena to life on screen. He’s held key FX roles, from FX TD to FX Supervisor, at top studios including DNEG and Sony Pictures Imageworks, and has now transitioned into education to help shape the next generation of VFX artists.

Over the course of his career, Louis has contributed to award-winning and high-profile projects, notably earning recognition at the Visual Effects Society Awards for Outstanding Effects Simulation for his work on Foundation: Collapse of the Galactic Empire.
Other of his credits include: Blade Runner 2049, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, The Lost Bus, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek Beyond.

At this in-person meetup, Louis will talk about:
• His journey from junior FX artist to lead and supervisor roles
• Advice for artists at any stage
• Your questions, wherever they lead

The talk will begin with a short introduction, followed by a moderated conversation and an open Q&A. Afterward, stick around for informal networking with fellow artists and enthusiasts.

This is a rare chance to hear directly from someone who’s shaped effects work on globally visible projects and now brings that expertise into the classroom and community.

Whether you’re a student, a working artist, or simply curious about the craft and careers in VFX, you’re more than welcome to join us..
