Vibe Code March with Sydney Parks
Details
Dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence in Web Development with Vibe Code Austin at our March meetup. Explore how AI is revolutionizing how websites and applications are built and discover practical applications for real-world projects. Learn about the latest trends and techniques for integrating AI algorithms into web programming to enhance user experiences and streamline the development process.
In March, we invite special guest Sydney Parks to share "Palettable Programming: AI Workflows by a Painter."
Palettable Programming is about using AI and code the way you use a paintbrush and paint. AI is woven into the fabric of Parks’ artistic practice, from visual ideation and conceptual research to project planning, AI-generated modeling, and AI-assisted programming. In this talk, the artist and Professor will share how she moved from being a painter to becoming an autodidact programmer and teacher. She’ll walk through her AI workflows built through experimentation, failure, and a constant desire to automate and expand her studio practice. This talk will end with a live demo so you can see behind the scenes, including the inevitable glitches along the way.
Sydney Parks is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at Austin and an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of virtual and physical space. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Houston, where she also served as a Teaching Fellow. Her career spans exhibitions, teaching, and public art, and she previously worked as Assistant Director at Anya Tish Gallery in Houston. Committed to community engagement, Sydney has taught Prison Drawing to male inmates at the Huntsville Holliday Unit. Her artwork has been exhibited at institutions including the Blaffer Art Museum and Lawndale Arts Center, and her work has been published in HCE Review (Dublin, Ireland) and R2: The Rice Review (Houston, Texas). She lives and works in Austin, Texas.
We'll also talk about recent developments in Vibe Coding this month, such as Claude projects, Cursor's Cloud Agents, WebMCP, how to teach your dog to vibe code, and a hands on demonstration of AI-assisted engineering with the Cursor IDE.
Whether you're a seasoned web developer or a curious beginner, this workshop will provide valuable insight into incorporating AI into your project.
Meetup only allows 10 to RSVP to each event. If RSVPs are full on Meetup, join us on Facebook.
