Workload Cost Optimization on Amazon EKS

Details
Hello everyone!
We're starting our new season with another interesting topic from an AWS expert!
Our speaker this time is Borja Pérez Guasch, an AWS Flexible Compute Specialist Solutions Architect for the DACH-CEE region. For more details about him, check his bio below the event description!
Borja will present to us how to cost-optimise workloads on Amazon EKS using EC2 Spot, Graviton, and Karpenter.
Kubernetes has enabled applications to be mostly agnostic to the underlying infrastructure and made it easier to run and scale containerized applications - but scaling the underlying compute capacity efficiently is challenging.
Karpenter (open-source project) observes the aggregated resource requests and makes decisions to launch or terminate nodes to reduce scheduling latencies and infrastructure costs. It is designed to work with any Kubernetes and any cloud or on-premise environments.
In this session, we will review and demo how Karpenter simplifies and accelerates infrastructure provisioning - including optimizations like workload consolidation, cost saving, ARM processors, and much more. We will discuss the best practices for scaling Kubernetes applications and the tools that will make your life easier managing the underlying compute infrastructure.
