Boston’s history stretches beyond the land to the sea. Bostonians welcome crews and cadets from all over the world to our harbor this year, marking the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding in 1776—the United States of America’s Semiquincentennial. 🛥

For this milestone occasion, a fleet of the world’s most magnificent international tall ships and military ships will arrive from New Orleans, Norfolk, Baltimore, and New York City for an epic peacetime gathering as they sail into the port of Boston.

The ships will enter the harbor, pass Castle Island, head up the waterfront past the Seaport and North End, and then "turn" right in front of our meeting location at Battery Wharf to head toward the Navy Yard. We truly will have a "Stage Side" seat!

Meeting Spot: 9:00 AM — Battery Wharf Maritime Museum (2 Battery Wharf).

  • Note: I’ll be there at 9:00 AM, but I recommend arriving by 8:30 AM if you want to snag a spot right against the water before the crowd thickens! (The museum is free if people want to visit afterward).

Saturday Fireworks: July 11, 2026 @ 9:15 PM. There is about a 5-hour gap between the ships docking and the fireworks. While I might not be there for the show itself, this is a great time for the group to wander into the North End together for dinner!

Disclaimer: This is a public festival and I am not associated with it. I am just the meetup host. I have posted our meeting spot but because this festival is massive, please come with your friends and family—I cannot be responsible for locating individuals if we get separated. Let's enjoy the day at our own pace!

For a "re-grouping" spot for the night, people can meet back at the same Maritime Museum sign around 8:45 PM. It's a solid landmark that's easy to find even when it's dark and crowded.
Have an amazing time—it’s going to be a historic day!

Additional Information:

  • Voluntary Donations: Hosting is fun but we're unpaid. Anything is appreciated to keep the fun going! (Venmo @Sha017 last 4# are 9966).
  • RSVPs: If plans change, a quick "No" update helps with my planning.
  • Parking: Heavily recommend the T! (Haymarket or North Station are closest). If driving, try SpotAngels or SpotHero.
