Some nights in Los Angeles feel like they’re carved into the walls of memory, and this was one of them. Very Good Mondays turned Gold Diggers into a temple of sound, where rhythm met reverence and every note felt like a secret being whispered to the crowd.

Very Good Mondays is a long-running weekly live music series curated by Alex Wasily (from Dumpstaphunk). It’s centered around improvised funk jams, where musicians create original music on the spot—no covers allowed—only original compositions are played .

• It started in 2021 with Alex Wasily booking rotating lineups to fill slow Monday nights. The atmosphere is all about spontaneous creativity, artists just “make shit up” on stage, all in service of the moment .
