This is a MULTI-DAY (Apr23 - 27) out of state event with easy to moderate hiking and sightseeing!

***LEAVING on Thurs eve and RETURNING on Mon night

***MEET in Safeway (6520 south academy Blvd) parking lot to carpool 11 hours to Utah. Bring ID, credit card, and $cash to pay park entry fee, tip waiter/ campsite personnel etc

FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! $150 deposit due Jan 30. Remaining $349 due Mar 15.

COST: $499 includes transportation, gas, entry fees, accommodation/ hotel, some food and incidental. Price may increase or decrease depending on the number of hikers, prices at the time of vehicle rental or hotel booking.

ACCOMMODATION: hotel

Shopping, hiking, sightseeing and glamping. Some details are subject to change!!!

*** If possible, DONATION for NAVAJO nation school children. -Back to school items (ruled books, markers, highlighters, calculator and folders). - Healthy snacks (granola bars, fruit bars, juice boxes, mixed fruit, apple sauce etc)

This is a weekend adventure for hiking enthusiasts! Various hikes of varying lengths ranging from moderate to challenging.

Utah Badlands

Location: Primarily in the central and southeastern parts of the state.

Notable Features: Includes areas like Capitol Reef National Park, Goblin Valley State Park, and Factory Butte, known for its prominent, isolated summit.

Thursday - Meeting at 8:45pm and LEAVING at 9:30pm from the Safeway to UTAH

Friday - We will hike and explore
Saturday - hike and explore
Sunday - sightseeing
Monday - Drive to see Gooseneck State Park and Return to Colorado - Hotsprings or Treasure Falls outside of Pagosa Springs on highway 160 on our way back maybe?

*** Trail conditions: varying. May be COLD at night!

***NEEDED: WATER, FOOD, hiking boots, light jacket, tent, sleeping bags, mattress pad, sunscreen, sunglasses and snacks/drinks to share. Flashlight, batteries, poles and poncho/ rain, first-aid kit, mace, whistle, phone charger, personal hygiene items and socks/ undies, medication etc

***Leaders will have walkies?, first aid and safety plan Socializing and drinking/eating and photos at several scenic spot.
