Learn tips and tricks for creating and maintaining original improvised characters with Canadian Comedy Award-winning comedian Kirsten Rasmussen! Known for her larger than life characters, Kirsten will teach you how to create characters through physicality, vocal choices and point of view to widen your palette of characters for improvisation.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Kirsten has worked for two decades performing and teaching improv and sketch comedy at theatres and festivals across Canada, the U.S. Germany and Australia. They started performing at Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton, where they also performed as an actor and sketch writer in various festivals in the city. Kirsten then moved to Montreal and co-founded Montreal Improv Theatre where she co-created curriculum, shows, improv formats for the theatre as well as the school. In 2013 Kirsten moved to Toronto and began working with Bad Dog Theatre, and Second City Theatre Toronto. She has worked as a performer, teacher and director at both theatres. They directed an all queer sketch comedy show called Extravaganza Eleganza that won a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Show, they won Canadian Comedy Award for Best Improviser, and they won a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Ensemble for The Second City's hit show She The People.
