What we’re about

Hiking group focusing (mostly) on hikes and bushwalks (mostly) in and around Victoria. Both day hikes and overnights are organised, and everyone and any age group, is welcome, even if you've never hiked before, as long as you are fit enough to do the event you have signed up for. Occasionally related activities like trail running, rogaining, or kayaking are also published, or re-published from their respective organisations.

Day hikes are usually within 90 min of driving from Melbourne, and vary in length, but usually between 10 and 20km, with some accent. They are usually graded medium to hard (3 to 5). See https://www.parks.vic.gov.au/things-to-do/hiking-and-bushwalking/choose-the-right-hike/how-walking-tracks-are-rated for details.

As different organisers have different profiles for what they organise, please message the event organiser directly for any questions regarding their hikes, if you are unsure if the hike is suitable for your abilities or not.

While all events are free, some overnights have camp or park fees that must be paid when signing up for the event. Please arrange these payments with the organisers directly.

Please note that by joining the group and/or events, you agree that:

  • if you remove yourself from a hike at the last minute or fail to turn up on the day, you may be removed from the group.
  • your profile clearly shows your face, as your profile photo is what is used should there ever be a need to call the SES or emergency services.
  • the organiser has no responsibility for your safety or liable for anything happening to you on the event. You are joining a group of people going for an event at your own risk.

Please remember that all the organisers are volunteers, donating their time and experience for you to participate and enjoy the event. Please treat them with the respect they deserve.
