Weds. night mystery walk from Fleming beach parking lot
Details
*Let's keep up our hiking fitness this fall/winter on weeknights by doing some night walks! (The locations will alternate to encourage getting to know different areas of town).
*Note about weather: walks will occur rain or shine - prepare for the weather! However, in the case of a severe weather warning, especially strong wind, walks will be cancelled (check your notifications please on the days of walks if the forecast looks very stormy).
Meet at 6:00pm at the Fleming Beach boat launch parking area (otherwise known in the pin as "Esquimalt Anglers Assn". We then have several options to walk in either direction).
We will be out for around 2-2.5 hours - expect an approximately 7-10km walk at a moderate pace (with hikers who walk for winter training if that gives an idea). There will be some walking on the sidewalk and some walking on potentially rocky park paths. Wear good walking shoes. Wear something reflective and bring a flashlight or headlamp (you may find you need a light to see the path/road properly!)
*Well-behaved, on-leash dogs are welcome - please post on the wall if you're bringing a dog so we know who to expect :-)
Bring snacks, and water, layered clothing. (The 10 Essentials are always recommended!)
*Drop in fee is $2 and you can drop in for up to 3 events before becoming a member.
*You can pay the 2026 yearly membership in person OR via e-transfer to victoriaoutdoorclub@gmail.com. Current membership fees are $30 per year. Everyone needs to sign the waiver once yearly at their first event of the year. I will have copies on hand at the event.
