\*Let's keep up our hiking fitness this fall/winter on weeknights by doing some night walks! (The locations will alternate monthly or potentially bi-weekly to encourage getting to know different areas of town).
\*Note about weather: walks will occur rain or shine - prepare for the weather! However, in the case of a severe weather warning, especially strong wind, walks will be cancelled (check your notifications please on the days of walks if the forecast looks very stormy).
Meet at 6:30 at the corner of Dallas and Cook by the water (there is lots of parking) - we then have several options to walk in either direction and the route will be chosen by the group at the beginning of the outing.
We will be out for around 2 hours - expect a 7-10km walk with some significant hills. Wear good walking shoes. Wear something reflective and bring a flashlight or headlamp (we won't be walking in the forest , but some of the paths and roadways are less well-lit and you may find you need a light to see the path/road properly!)
\*Well-behaved, on-leash dogs are welcome - please post on the wall if you're bringing a dog so we know who to expect :-)
Bring snacks, and water, layered clothing. (The 10 Essentials are always recommended!)
Membership for VOC is $10 for the half-year after July until the end of December. \*Drop in fee is $2 and you can drop in for up to 3 events before becoming a member.
You can pay the yearly membership in person OR via e-transfer to victoriaoutdoorclub@gmail.com Anyone who hasn't already needs to read and sign the club waiver once yearly. I will have copies on hand at the event!)
