Oi pessoal, que tal inaugurarmos nosso meetup group com uma happy hour no Swans Pub? Reservei uma mesa para 10 pessoas no pub. Vamos tentar ficar naquela mesa perto da placa da Buckerfields. Para nos encontrar, basta me procurar (veja a foto de Beto aqui do Meetup, para quem não me conhece), vou estar com um chapeu fedora marrom.
Para os falantes nativos, não há muito a dizer, é só bater papo com uma turma que gosta de conversar em português. É importante ter paciência com quem está aprendendo.
Para os demais, este é um meetup de conversação. Você pode até não falar português fluentemente, mas seria bom se você conseguisse manter uma conversação por alguns minutos. Mesmo que você trave a língua, gagueje, tudo bem, desde que consiga se expressar, falar sobre o que gosta de fazer, sobre suas experiências passadas, sobre seus desejos para o futuro. Se estiver tudo bem, então este meeetup é para você. Se não tiver certeza se vai funcionar, você pode simplesmente tentar. Muitas pessoas acham um pouco estranho no começo falar em outro idioma com pessoas que não conhecem, mas à medida que o clima esquenta, elas geralmente gostam bastante!!!!
Este encontro é totalmente informal, não é uma aula de português. Você simplesmente vem, conhece gente, faz amigos, toma sua cerveja (ou refrigerante) e conversa com a turma.

Hey peeps, how about kicking off our meetup group with a happy hour at Swans Pub? I've booked a table for 10 people at the pub. Let's try to get to the table near the Buckerfields sign. For the native speakers, there isn't much to say, just chat with a group of people who like to speak Portuguese. It's important to be patient with those who are learning.
For everyone else, this is a conversation meetup. You may not speak Portuguese fluently, but it would be good if you were able to hold a conversation for some time. Even if you twist your tongue, stammer, it is ok, as long as you can express yourself, talk about what you like to do, about your experiences in the past, about your wishes for the future. If that is ok, then this meetup is for you. If you're not sure this is going to work for you, you can just give it a try. Lots of people find it a bit strange in the beginning to talk in another language to people they haven't met earlier, but as it warms up, they usually like it a lot!!!!
This meetup is totally informal, it is not a Portuguese class. You just come by, meet people, make friends, have your beer (or soda) and talk to people.
