MEETINGS OF SELF-EXPLORATION FOR INNER PEACE AND FREEDOM
## Hillary Rodrigues will join us for a talk on KRISHNAMURTI AND THE BUDDHA, followed by an opportunity for Q&A and discussion.
We shall begin our group exploration with a brief talk by Hillary, who will point to some of the similarities and differences between Krishnamurti’s teachings and those of the Buddha.
For instance, the highest goal in Buddhism is the attainment of nirvana. Is there a difference between this Buddhist goal and Krishnamurti’s call for radical psychological transformation? The introductory talk will serve as a strategy to inquiry more deeply into Krishnamurti’s thought and message.
An ardent spiritual seeker in his youth, Hillary Rodrigues has been a professor of Eastern religious traditions at the University of Lethbridge for 30 years.
His wide-ranging research includes writings on world religions, Asian philosophies, theory and method in the study of religion, and Hindu goddesses.
He has published books and articles and given invited presentations on Krishnamurti’s teachings in Europe, Canada, the United States, Mexico, and India.
His writings include Krishnamurti’s Insight, Hinduism – the eBook, as well as digital resources for studying world religions.
The meeting, offered at no charge, will be held outdoors under the Centre’s beautiful oak trees, if the weather permits, or otherwise indoors.
We look forward to you joining us!
