Songhees/Westsong Walkway walk

Details
This will be an easy walk along the Songhees/Westsong Walkway in Vic West.
We'll meet on the Songhees Road side of the Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort. For your GPS, punch in 50 Songhees Road. That should get you close enough.
We'll start off walking past Songhees Park, and then on to the Westsong Walkway itself. Songhees Point Park is just off to our right and you might want to head over there after the walk and take a few pictures from the Point.
The walkway twists and turns past Songhees Beach, the Victoria International Marina, and Lime Bay Park. When we hit Spinnakers Brewpub, we'll take a sharp left and carry on through Mary Street Park, where you should have a good view of Fisherman's Wharf Marina, across Victoria Harbour, and any ocean cruise liners that might happen to be docked, not to mention the Olympic Mountain Range in the distance.
As we continue past Colville and Coffin Islands and through Rainbow Park, we'll encounter the familiar Maitland Road gazebo, and skirt past Barnard Park.
The pathway narrows a bit as we go through the Matson Conservation District, and ends up with a charming jaunt along an elevated wooden boardwalk that brings us to Westbay Marine Village.
Attention all: There IS a funky washroom at our turnaround point at Head Street...!!!
For the most part, this is a paved trail, with the exception of the wooden boardwalk at Westbay Marine Village. The ups and downs are minimal, at most 15m.
This is an out and back walk of 4.8 km in total. However, if you want to stop and rest at any point on one of the many benches available along the walkway, that's fine too. You can pick up the group on our way back.
There is a dedicated parking zone for 19 cars at our meeting point, but that often fills up quickly, so if you get a spot there, you're lucky. Otherwise, there's lots of roadside parking available all along Songhees Road.
PS: Our pups must be leashed for this walk.
