Tour with Victoria Ghost Tours! Sunday, October 19th at 2 pm | Spiritualism in Victoria

From small beginnings in rural New York State in the 1840s, spiritualism went viral. By the 1860s, it was all the rage in Victoria and other places across the continent. Even Abraham Lincoln is said to have participated in seances at the White House. John Adams will talk about its main proponents here in Victoria, many of whom are buried at RBC (including innovative photographer Hannah Maynard, pictured here in one of her composite works), and what they experienced during their seances.

This tour takes place at Ross Bay Cemetery, beginning at 2 pm. We meet at the entrance gate on Fairfield Road at Stannard Avenue. Cost is $2 for OCS members or $5 for non-members; cash or e-transfer accepted.
