Witty's Lagoon
Details
This hike explores Witty's Lagoon Regional Park to Tower Point and back. The hike is approximately two to two and a half hours long as there is lots to see and there are great opportunities to take pictures. The trail does not have any major elevation gain but there are stairs going up and down parts of the trail. It can be muddy in parts. This hike will be a relaxed to moderate pace depending on the group.
Feel free to bring cameras and binoculars because although sightings of whales in the strait are uncommon, when they do happen they are wonderful to see. Also, there are often seals hanging around that are better picked out with binoculars.
Please note: The address of the regional park nature house is 4115 Metchosin Rd.; that is where we will be parking. There is also a smaller parking lot at 3920 Metchosin Rd; that is not the one you want. The sign for that one will say Tower Point. Continue further West about a half a km and you will see the nature house parking lot just before a church parking lot on your left.
The event will go ahead with light showers, but may be cancelled if it is more than that. No dogs on this hike please.
