Glasgow Games Soapbox

Details
An evening of talks about games and game development.
We will have a small selection of speakers from in and out of the games industry sharing their wisdom. Expect talks to be around 30 minutes long.
Em Reed - Reframing Excess: Visualizing Gaming's Dark Matter
Em is a writer and game designer focusing on interactive narrative. She will be talking about the rise of excess, the encroachment of abundance and the inescapability of brainrot in the attention economy of modern videogames.
Kate Spink - Starting a Studio As An Industry Reject
Kate is one third of So Evil Studio, a new Glasgow company who make 3D models for videogames, and also for miniatures. She will be talking about trying to enter the games industry during a major slump, starting a studio, and how women and minorities should big themselves up and not only user their voices for advocacy.

Doors open at 6 and there will be space for networking before and after. If you are interested in giving a talk at this event or future events please message the organisers.
Our host for this event will be Barclays who are allowing us to use their new building in Tradeston. Refreshments (drinks and pizza) will be provided, we are asking for a small fee to cover the costs of these, click here to pay.
There are usually a few people who head to the Laurieston, a pub, after the event. It's a lovely nostalgic venue, and in that spirit they don't take cards. So bring a £20 note with you if you fancy a drink after.
