  This talk will give an overview of the different data platform approaches. We will look at the fundamental concepts around these architectures and assess their level of development and maturity. In the second part, we will look at two real-world data platforms that we have implemented with two global companies and highlight the technologies that were used and the background of the architecture decisions.

  A comparative journey through the deployment options for dbt in production: dbt Core, dbt Cloud, and dbt with Astronomer. Highlighting the key features, integration capabilities, and strategic benefits of each path, providing a clear framework for choosing the most suitable deployment strategy.

Speakers:

• Florian is a Principal Data Scientist at [at]. Florian studied Supply Chain Management at MIT and designed optimization algorithms for a major Logistics Company. At [at] he helps his customers to build smart data solutions and is heavily engaged in NLP-Algorithms, LLMs and trustworthy AI. During his career he gained a broad experience using different data platforms and their approaches.
• Jan is a Data Engineer at [at] and focuses on building various cloud data platform approaches in Azure or AWS. Previous to his current role, he worked for a leading software company in the public transportation sector and has been involved with the concept of data mesh. At [at] he develops IoT monitoring solutions and cloud data platforms for several leading global automotive companies.
• Piotr is a Data/Analytics Engineer with international experience across various sectors, certified in DBT, AWS, and Snowflake. Data consultant/contractor on a daily basis, performing migrations to DBT or its deployment optimisation. Outside of work, Piotr enjoys learning new languages and has been a professional swimmer as a teenager.
