We will take the train to Fischamend. From there we will start to hike to the Fischa wetlands. Following this river we will come to the Danube and to Haslau from where we will take the ferry to Orth. We will have a break at the ferry station and finish our tour at the visitor's center of the Danube Wetlands National Park. We will walk appr. 12 km/3-4 hrs!
This will be a wonderful tour along very natural trails and we will have a wonderful nature experience there. It is highly suggested to wear good shoes. You should also consider wearing long trousers, as there are nettles near the path sometimes. Take some drinks with you, especially if it's a hot day.
The number of participants is STRICTLY restricted this time. I hope for your understanding. The ferry can only carry about 6-8 people across the Danube in one trip. But we can't spend half of the day waiting on the river bank for the ferry to come back six times. Therefore only as many people can participate as can be transported in two ferry trips. This event is also interesting for nature photographers. There is a fascination birdlife in the Danube wetlands, and at the visitor's center, you can see many flowers and animals of the National Park! Please consider the length of the hike. The light conditions are acceptable good near the Danube, so light tele lenses might be sufficent!
This activity is non-commercial and unguided. It's a group activity of people who spend freetime together. The organizers are not responsible in any way for the participants or their equipment. Everyone bears their own responsibility!
