Welcome to the Vienna Film Forum, a discussion group dedicated to the love of cinema!
Think of us as cinema's answer to your local book club. Each month, we pick a recent or upcoming movie release(s) and meet up to share our thoughts on them. Sometimes we pick an older movie that's re-showing in Vienna, too. You watch the film on your own time and then meet up with us to discuss it, so make sure to plan in advance to see the film!
We are an international group and are devoted to including expats and discussing films each month in English, though you need not necessarily have seen the film in English.
For this installment, we are doing a special spotlight on Mad Max: Fury Road, George Miller's visually stunning masterpiece that proves great filmmaking can be both intellectually stimulating and ridiculously entertaining! When it came out in 2015, Fury Road was a shot of life into the action movie scene, with explosive action meeting thoughtful storytelling in what has become one of this century's most talked-about films.
