Vienna Film Forum March Meeting - I'm Still Here!

Details
Welcome to the Vienna Film Forum, a monthly-ish discussion group dedicated to the love of cinema!
Think of us as cinema's answer to your local book club. Each month, we pick a recent or upcoming movie release and meet up to share our thoughts on it. You watch the film on your own time and then meet up with us to discuss it, so make sure to plan in advance to see the film!
We are an international group and are devoted to including expats and discussing films each month in English, though you need not necessarily have seen the film in English.
For this month, we will be discussing last year's Brazilian drama, which has just made its way to Austrian cinemas after recently winning Best International Feature at the 2025 Oscars! This drama is the story of a family, set against the backdrop of Brazil's military dictatorship, which began with an American-backed coup in 1964 and ended in 1985. Join us to discuss your thoughts on the film and all it has to say about this period in Brazilian history.
There has been some preview screenings, but the film released by 21 March in many cinemas in Austria, so make sure to plan plenty of time to see the film in advance of our discussion. If you would like to check it out with English subtitles, keep an eye on Burg Kino and other OV cinemas, or check out the screening at Filmcasino on March 24th.
However you see the film, we hope you will join us for a drink and a lively debate if you've seen the film!
NOTE: To cover costs, we encourage a €2/pp donation when joining the event, to help cover costs for organising this group. Please make sure to bring cash if you do.
