No Diversity, No Games - How inclusion is no longer optional

Jack Gutmann is a Syrian refugee, real-time VFX artist/Technical Artist based in Austria, working across Unity and Unreal. With over five years in the game industry, he bridges art and tech while challenging the status quo of whose stories get told. His breakout autobiographical game Path Out (made with Causa Creations) put players in the shoes of a teen escaping war, earning praise for its disarming humor and raw honesty. Jack advocates for diversity and believes it isn’t a moral checkbox, t’s the only path to creative survival. When underrepresented people are excluded from development, games suffer. Jack’s insists that inclusion is not optional if games are to evolve, resonate, and remain culturally relevant.
