Vienna Gamedev Meetup #64 - The power of games in education

Very happy to have Lev Ledit from SchuBu Systems talk about a project he looked for people and announced at a Game Dev Meetup years ago!

SchuBu is a web-based teaching and learning platform for teachers and for 10 to 14 year old students. (https://www.schubu.at/). We create digital school books for free to use. But from our experience at SchuBu, we go far beyond just designing interactive textbooks. We are developing a digital tool that inspire children to look behind the world and thus explore and understand it.

SchuBu links three pillars:

1. Mediation in the classroom with interactive and student-connected whiteboards, games and interactions
2. Understanding through independent testing and competence-oriented teaching with e.g. hundreds of games
3. Practice on your own digital device with instant feedback.
   We cooperate with the Ministry of Education, Pedagogical Universities and 100 schools, which make SchuBu better every day, because they work with it every day. More than 1,000 teachers and 11,000 students are already using SchuBu in Austrian schools. In the last 2 years, we have received 7 national and international awards from startup and education juries.
