Merlot Odyssey: A World of Flavors

Embark on a global journey of taste at our next intimate wine-tasting event, where every pour tells the story of Merlot from a different corner of the world! This blind tasting will showcase Merlots from various countries and continents, inviting you to explore how terroir and winemaking techniques shape their unique profiles.

We'll kick off the event with an engaging aroma-guessing warm-up game to sharpen your senses, then dive into the wines with a fun guessing game to identify their origins and other properties.

This is a warm and friendly gathering primarily for gay men, but allies are more than welcome! We aren’t wine experts or sommeliers—just a group of wine enthusiasts who love to explore and learn more about what’s in our glass.

I’ll be hosting this event in my cozy apartment. Although I’m not a professional sommelier, I do have a degree in winemaking and have tasted over 1200 wines, so I’ll be sharing what I know to make the experience engaging and educational.

What to Expect:

• A welcoming, relaxed environment in my small home setting. My friendly dog will be present, so please be mindful if you have any allergies or are uncomfortable around dogs.
• A blind tasting format that will include a fun guessing game.
• An attendee limit of 8 people.
• I’ll provide wines, snacks, background information, and detailed tasting sheets to guide your experience.
• Shared costs for the evening are €25 per person (cash, Revolut, bank transfer).

Number of Wines:

• 4 people: 6 bottles
• 5–6 people: 8 bottles
• 7–8 people: 10 bottles

A Few Important Notes:

• Please note that the event will be held in English.
• Please RSVP only if you’re certain you can attend. The limited number of spots and the curated nature of the event mean that I prepare the wines and tasting sheets based on the final participant list.
• The event will begin promptly at 15:00. Please arrive on time—or even a bit early—as we can only start once everyone is present. This ensures we can fully enjoy the curated experience together from start to finish.
