Welcome

The Vienna Hiking Group is dedicated to people who enjoy hiking and socializing in an international environment. Whether you live in Vienna or are just visiting, if you love hiking, meeting new people, and socializing, this group is for you.

Anyone can suggest a meetup event—feel free to message the organizer(s).

This group is not for commercial purposes. Therefore, our events are and will remain free of charge, except for any third-party fees. Neither the group itself nor any of its hike leaders, individually or collectively, can be held responsible for any injuries, disabilities, or fatalities that may occur during activities organized by or on behalf of the group. Participation is entirely at your own risk.

Hikers must be in good health. Those with special medical conditions or requiring specific medications should inform the hike leader before the hike begins. We encourage all hikers to have a tick vaccination and to keep it up to date. The hike leader reserves the right to exclude participants before or during the hike (from locations where public transport is available or accessible via easy walking trails) due to inappropriate equipment, unsocial behavior, or insufficient physical fitness. Additionally, bringing small children is not advisable.

Please note that for insurance purposes, membership in an Austrian Alpine Association (Alpine Club Vienna, Naturfreunde, Oesterreichischer Touristenklub) is strongly recommended.
