"She wanted to die, but she also wanted to live in Paris".

After discussing Don Quixote last year let's turn to Madame Bovary, another famous reader in literature. But while by imitating the knights in his books Don Quixote wants to escape the demands of the flesh, Emma's reading arouses in her "a wish for sensual life, more sensual life" (H. Bloom).

A once-controversial book for which its author was prosecuted for obscenity, its story about a bored adulterous wife and the provincial life might have new meanings for us today.

Plus, it's incredibly funny. :)
I'm looking forward to discussing it with you!
