💡 Speaker One:
Jan Svoboda, Senior Solutions Engineer, Confluent
Title of Talk:
Building State Store for Event Streaming Applications
Abstract:
What is the most difficult part of developing event streaming applications? Managing and maintaining the state of your streaming data. This session dives into the diverse landscape of state store solutions for event streaming applications.
We'll explore different options available, from native state stores within streaming frameworks of Kafka Streams and Apache Flink to external data stores. We'll discuss the trade-offs of each approach, including considerations of scalability, latency, consistency, and query capabilities.
Live demo is included to show some practical examples of working with your State Stores.
Bio:

💡Speaker Two:
Martin Schwarz, Software Engineer, SQUER Solutions GmbH
Title of Talk:
Kafka Streams for the rest of us
Abstract:
Kafka streams is a well-established framework for stream processing and has seen steadily increasing adoption over the past years.
In this session, we will delve into the internals of Kafka streams and the key concepts you as a developer need to master to apply it effectively. We compare stateful and stateless processing and their implications and further explore how thinking in streams can provide a natural way to approach a problem. To drive these concepts home, we'll round off with tangible code examples addressing real-world challenges.
By the end of the talk, participants will be equipped with a better understanding of essential stream processing concepts and a heuristic on identifying suitable use cases.
Bio:
Martin is a software engineer at SQUER Solutions, a Vienna-based software consulting company. He is driven by curiosity about technology, building products people actually like to use, and learning new things. His daily work revolves around helping clients to evolve their systems and structures. In his previous career, he was active in finance and management consulting, before finding his passion in software development.
