Hiking Trip from Vienna - Semmering

🏔️ Semmering Hike: 20-Schilling-Blick

🕒 Time: ~07:00–18:00

What makes this trip special:
— one of Austria’s most famous panoramic viewpoints: 20-Schilling-Blick
— breathtaking views of the legendary Semmering Railway
— beautiful forest trails, mountain scenery, and historic villas

The Semmering Railway was the world’s first true mountain railway, built in the 1850s, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The view from 20-Schilling-Blick became so iconic that it was even printed on the old Austrian 20-schilling banknote.

📏 Distance: ~14.6 km
⛰️ Elevation gain: ~600 m
⏱️ Walking time: ~4 h 40 min (plus breaks & photos)

This is a scenic circular route and is considered moderate.

⚠️ Expect:
– a few steeper uphill sections
– mixed terrain (forest paths, gravel, some asphalt)
– a full day outdoors

👉 You should:
– have a basic fitness level
– be comfortable walking 14–15 km

🥾 Hiking shoes or shoes with good grip are recommended.

💶 Participation fee: 30 € (including train tickets)

Participation is confirmed only after 10 € prepayment.

Just mention it in the registration form, and you’ll only pay a 15 € organizational fee.
