Queer Community Center

We are a Queer Community Center with many events especially for gay/bi/trans/queer men* in Berlin. We also offer many LGBTQI+ events. We are a relaxed group for making new friends in Berlin. We currently have around 20 to 30 meetups every month, like massage exchange, contact improv, yoga, book club, film club, pot lucks, life drawing, hiking, and many more.
You are very welcome at all of our events and even more welcome to become a member. Each member can attend two events/classes a month for free, plus discounts to all other events. Become a member at https://wearevillage.org/produkt-kategorie/mitgliedschaften/ .

Wir sind ein Queeres Community Center mit Events für schwule/bi/trans/queere Männer in Berlin. Wir bieten auch viele LGBTQI+ Events. Wir sind eine zwanglose Gruppe, in der man neue Freundschaften in Berlin schliessen kann. Momentan haben wir jeden Monat ungefähr 20 bis 30 Meetups, beispielsweise Massageaustausch, Kontaktimprovisation, Yoga, Buchclub, Filmclub, Potluck, Zeichenworkshop, Wandern und vieles mehr.

How do we write about what is unpleasant, ugly, provocative and annoying? Is there a difference between being offensive and trolling? What works of fiction from the past can we look back on for inspiration?
After a short introduction about the tradition of the transgressive in literature, we will workshop how to write about the forbidden using today’s most touchy subjects.

Words and stories reside within all of us, waiting to be discovered.
Our monthly Open Writing Circle invites people with all levels of writing experience to explore their creativity and imagination.
In each session, one of Berlin’s many exceptional writers, poets, artists, or curators will create a vibrant and collective learning experience.
Whether you’re interested in fiction, memoir, non-fiction, or poetry, this supportive space encourages you to uncover the words within you. We’ll draw upon techniques used in writing workshops to unleash your innate talent in a collaborative environment that will allow for a dynamic exchange of ideas and insights.
This workshop aims to create an affirming, playful and empowering space for queer people to explore, express and celebrate their identities as well as to provide a platform for the stories of the LGBTQIA+ community to be shared, heard and valued.
General information
Level: No previous experience is necessary.
Language: while the group is primarily conducted in English, you are welcome to write in any language you feel comfortable with.

Nova Scotia House von Charlie Porter (2025)
“Nova Scotia House” takes us to the heart of a relationship, a community and an era. It is both a love story and a lament; bearing witness to the enduring pain of the AIDS pandemic and honouring the joys and creativity of queer life.
Johnny looks back to his relationship with Jerry. When they met, nearly thirty years ago, Johnny was 19, Jerry was 45. They fell in love and made a life on their own terms in Jerry’s flat: 1, Nova Scotia House. Johnny is still there today – but Jerry is gone, and so is the world they knew. As Johnny’s mind travels between then and now, he begins to remember stories of Jerry’s youth: experiments in living; radical philosophies; the many possibilities of love, sex and friendship before the AIDS crisis devastated the queer community. Slowly, he realizes what he must do next—and attempts to restore ways of being that could be lost forever.
About the Village Book Club
Book lovers and bookworms have been meeting on a bimonthly basis to discuss works of fiction and non-fiction (novels, biographies, and essays) focused on or related to GBTQ themes and personalities.
Anticipating insightful discussions, we choose the next book two months in advance.
While the evening discussions are conducted in English, participants are welcome to read the selected books in their preferred language.

Join us for an evening of provocative discussions about the crisis of gay life after homosexuality with Travis Jeppesen (The Suiciders, Settler’s Landing), Amir Naaman (Die Nektarvögel), Pierre D’Alancaisez The Critic, ArtForum, Compact) and Ran Heilbrunn (Newsweek, American Affairs).
What happened in the transition from inversion to homosexuality, gayness, and queerness? Some gay men fear losing their freedoms, some advocate for sexual restraint, while others, lost in the ever-expanding LGBTQIA+ ‘community,’ continue to make maximalist ideological demands of those outside. These responses mark a fracture in gay life. If there is some essence to homosexual desire, how is it being served by today’s gay culture and queer politics? Has the gay man — homosexual, queer, or inverted — rendered himself obsolete?
