Matt Mankins (http://www.twitter.com/mankins) is the founder of FairTread (http://www.fairtread.com) in NYC, where he is building modern monetization tools for the web. His team most recently built Adieu (http://www.adieu.io), a way for consumer to swap ugly ads with pretty photos in their browsers. Their newest product, Atri (http://www.atri.me), is the best way to support all of the creators on the web. As one of the early inventors of webmail, his first company is now listed on NASDAQ as SMTP.
Previously Matt served as CTO of Fast Company, where he oversaw its digital construction and operations, playing at the intersection of new and old media, creating digital experiences for content consumers from old media artifacts. He also owned the Lorem Ipsum Bookstore in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which won several awards, including the Boston Phoenix's 2005 award for Best Bookstore Trying to Save the World. Mankins studied at the MIT Media Lab and University of Miami.
