We are getting together for a hands-on workshop focused on the aesthetics and constraints of early home computing. Whether you have an old machine tucked away in a closet or you just enjoy tinkering with assembly language and vintage architecture, this is a space to share projects, troubleshoot hardware quirks, and write some code that respects the limitations of the past. We will have a few setups available for people to experiment on, but you are more than welcome to bring your own gear if you have a specific project you are working on.

This meetup is for anyone who appreciates the character of 8-bit and 16-bit systems and wants to connect with others who still find magic in low-level programming. We will keep things informal, focusing on knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer support rather than a rigid lecture. If you have been looking for an excuse to dust off an old project or dive into retro-computing history alongside some like-minded folks here in Des Moines, we would love to see you there. Please take a moment to RSVP so we can get an accurate head count for the room.
