From Jeff Frost:
Winter Waterfowl Adventure at Blackwater NWR on Monday, Jan 19th.
There is nothing quite like sunrise at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Join us to capture first light over the marsh, followed by a morning dedicated to photographing the refuge’s abundant waterfowl. This is the peak of the wintering season. Come explore the wintering grounds of the Chesapeake’s most iconic species.
Our Itinerary:
The Refuge: We’ll explore Wildlife Drive and the main observation site. If the group is up for it, we’ll stretch our legs on the Marsh Edge Trail.
Oakley Street: Next, we’ll head into Cambridge to the Oakley Street Seawall—a local favorite for incredible, close-up duck photography.
Refuel: We’ll wrap up the morning at Butter & Grace Comfort Food for a well-earned breakfast.
Meet at the Blackwater NWR visitor center at 6:30AM
2145 Key Wallace Drive · Cambridge, MD
Bring Water, a Tripod, comfortable shoes, fully charged batteries, and empty cards
