Virginia Wine Explorers

Hello!! I'm a current organizer of a fairly active meetup group looking to focus on some wine events in the nearby local area (I live in Williamsburg) and throughout the state of Virginia. I have experience hosting winery weekends away but the wineries visited have been mostly between Charlottesville and Wintergreen. I'm at a point where I have a number of favorites in that area and have visited a few of them several times but I'm looking to visit wineries in the rest of the state. I'm hoping to have at least 2 or events per month, we can have more if other members host. Beside wineries, we'll try and do some wine festivals and other wine related events and may visit a brewery on occasion. If you see something that might be of interest to the group, please let me know. I might not necessarily host it myself but would be happy to post an event on your behalf.

You must have a face shot of yourself to join. I will remove members if they haven't visited the group in a year or more.

Please be aware organizer dues are $180 every 6 months and monetary donations or a glass of wine are welcome contributions. I'm not going to implement the meetup dues on the site but active members who contributed to the meetup in some way will get the first spots in carpools or house stays.

Rules and restrictions if we do a house stay.
For house stays, active members get priority and I must have met you in person for you to be in the house. If you would like to bring a guest for a weekend away, please arrange your own transportation or accommodations. House stays tend to be ladies only but anyone will be free to make their own accommodations and meet up with us. I'll do co-ed in a house if we can get more than one guy to go but I've found it's typically one token guy in attendance and I'd like to avoid that in the future. Once you've expressed your commitment to a house stay, payment is due at that time as it secures your spot. There are no refunds for cancellations on a house stay unless we find somebody to take your spot.
