Hello!! I'm a current organizer of a fairly active meetup group looking to focus on some wine events in the nearby local area and throughout the state of Virginia. I have experience hosting winery weekends away but the wineries visited have been mostly between Charlottesville and Wintergreen. I'm at a point where I have a number of favorites in that area and have visited a few of them several times and I'm looking to change things up. I want to explore the wineries in the rest of the state so I've created a group to do just that. I'm hoping to have at least 2 events per month, more if possible. Beside wineries, we'll try and do some wine festivals and other wine related events and may visit a brewery on occasion. If you see something that might be of interest to the group, please let me know. I might not necessarily host it myself but would be happy to post an event on your behalf.
I live in Williamsburg and the first 6 months or so will mostly be events within a 50 or 60 mile radius of there. I will try and do a day road trip or 2 before the end of the year. Overnight and/or house stays won’t be until sometime in 2026.

I'm not going to implement the meetup dues on the site but will be charging a mandatory non-refundable fee of $10 (charged once every 12 months) if you request a ride or stay in a house with me somewhere. This is an addition to any transportation or house stay charges. This is my way to recover some of the cost of the organizer subscription which is currently $180 every 6 months. There will be exemptions to the $10 fee which include anyone who hosts events on either of my meetups, anyone who has made a donation in the past 12 months towards my meetup groups or at my discretion, anyone who has made contributions in other ways that are not listed here.
For house stays, active members get priority and only members of the group may stay in the house. Please arrange your own transportation or accommodations if you would like to bring a guest to an event. Most house stays will be ladies only but anyone will be free to make their own accommodations and meet up with us. I'll do co-ed in a house if we can get more than one guy to go but I've found it's typically one token guy in attendance and I'd like to avoid that in the future. Once you've expressed your commitment to a house stay, payment is due at that time as it secures your spot. There are no refunds for cancellations on a house stay unless we find somebody to take your spot.
