The OSGi specifications provide a set of open standards describing a dynamic module system for the Java language which greatly facilitates the development of complex modular applications. The Eclipse Concierge project strives to be a minimal footprint implementation of the OSGi core standards particularly targeted for resource-constrained embedded devices as they are typically found in IoT applications. In this webinar I will introduce you to the ideas of OSGi and discuss implementation details that allowed us to make Concierge outperform other OSGi framework implementations on selected target platforms like Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone.
